• Closure tension is the second challenge. The pillow box locks by pressing the curved flap layers against each other, a pressure-fit, not a glued seal. Too loose and the box opens during retail display or transit. Too tight and the customer tears the flap trying to open it. Correct closure tension is calibrated at the die-cut stage,  it cannot be adjusted after production.
• Print registration on a curved surface is the third challenge. The curved end panels of a pillow box are not flat surfaces. A print that bleeds into the curve zone without accounting for the panel’s three-dimensional shape arrives with ink that breaks or shifts at the fold point.
